| 1934–1937 | Rebuilt: new engines and boilers, a tower bridge, thicker deck armour, a hangar and catapult, and more elevation for her 15-inch guns. |
Her steering jammed at Jutland and she circled under the fire of the German fleet, drawing it away from Warrior. Rebuilt between the wars, she was Cunningham's flagship at Calabria, where she hit Giulio Cesare at thirteen miles, and at Matapan. Hit by a German glide bomb off Salerno in 1943, she still bombarded the Normandy beaches. She ran aground in Prussia Cove, Cornwall, on her way to the breakers in 1947.
